That is one of the reasons I am in Seattle this time of year. Yesterday was in the 60s most of the day, with the highs around 72. Overnight lows was 52. Most mornings lows in the mid 50s.

I agree with you doom. That's the perfect weather - except for swimming. And observer - the PNW is the best place to spend summers. Just have to have your ticket out of there by October before the constant grey, dreariness of autumn, winter and spring set in. But that's what makes it so beautiful there! We'll be visiting for a wedding in August, can't wait!!! I only hope Portland doesn't get one of those 100+ degree hot weather spells then.

Why does Miami get cold fronts? It's close enough to the tropics that it shouldn't get them. Looking at the daily temperatures in Miami from Jan 2012, Miami had a high of just 57 degrees one day. It had lows of 55, 45, 43, 52, 50, 52, 57, 54, 50, 59 etc for a while.

Compare that to Santo Domingo, for the same month , the absolute lowest was 68, with most lows being around 70.
