Hey that Jason Pierre blew off his fingers and got a 40mm contract to play in the NFL......the drummer from Def Leppard lost his arm but played drums in the band ever since! So this guy might be able to do something.......

Hopefully, he had his body insured.

I know a lot of five star players do this in college that come back for their senior year.

No chance...... he started a go fund me to pay medical bills from the accident (asking for 350,000) and then the NFL announced it would pay the medical bills.

I've personally known a few high salary/long term players, nobody ever mentioned body insurance. A player like Tom Brady would have it but the rest are more interested in chasing women, partying and what kind of rims to put on their cars.

One player (100mm+) got into a pretty bad car accident, he didn't even have car insurance!

Sure he did........the victim he hit wanted to get paid! Victim was paralyzed.

NFL players really are like lottery winners. They actually only get to keep about 1/3 of the contract jackpot. Very few get to go the distance (7-8 yr deal and the team cuts/trades in 4-5), then 37% in taxes, plus the agent gets 10%.

My friend's husband is a sports agent (he's part of Lebron's team and reps Tristan Thompson) and insurance is one of the things he preaches.

⅓ of stupid money is good. More than some folks earn in a lifetime.

It is up to them to manage their funds and careers after football. Those that blow it do not get empathy or sympathy from me
