Hello, everyone. I grew up in Miami but cannot recall what used to be on the land near 349 SW 92nd Ave. As far back as I can remember it has always been vacant, but recently I was looking at the neighborhood on Google aerial maps and noticed what appears to be a circular road on that land, as well as what looks like driveways to houses. The entrance to the land is off of a road that runs parallel to Flagler street, to the north of the property.

I did try to look up records and noticed it was owned and recently sold by FPL. The main FPL building which was a part of the deal was built in 1972 (located at 9250 W Flager St).

If you google "349 SW 92nd Ave Miami, FL" and click on the address you can see the parcel of land I am curious about. It is directly south of the parking lot that is south of the FPL station... across 92nd Ave from the Big Five Club. It's about 9 acres and vacant.

Anyone know what used to be there?

You can check that place on Google Earth (not MAps) as far as 1995. Hope that helps.

Check out historicaerials.com -- looks like it might have been a trailer park, and in existence in 1980, but gone by 1986...

It seems that that it used to be a lake in there... and yes, it seems to be a trailer park.

Whatever happened to it...
How depressing.....

Thank you for the replies! Thank you for the link to historicaerials.com. I checked it out, and you're right, it does appear as though it might have been a trailer park, with the bulk of the land sold off for single family home development to the South and East. It looks like they had pretty big yards compared to the trailer park that is now a post office near 8800 SW 8th St (you can see that trailer park to the SE, on the other side of the Tamiami Trail on historicaerials: many trailers on that piece of land, but little, if any, yards). Thanks so much!!!

I see... only a small portion of it remains - the upper right part. Most of what it used to be is now houses. Maybe that's why the trailer park people had to move out.

Yeah, I think it is neat that there was a lake there... with the bigger plots of land and such, it seemed like it was probably a pretty luxurious type of place, at least compared to trailer parks like the one that used to be near 88th and the trail. It also looks like it had a big entrance at what I think is now Grand Canal Drive. I wonder about the people who lived there, if there are any people who once lived there who are still alive and maybe pass by it nowadays and see that part of where they once lived has been a vacant lot for so long. Very sad.
