Yes, that is true. FIU sucks and is in a sub-par area of Miami so leaving Europe for the purpose of attending school there seems like a ridiculous notion. The rest of his original post seemed rather silly and unbelievable as well.

Underestimating the appeal of Miami Beach perhaps. No one anywhere dreams of suburban Miami let alone Sweetwater, Fountainbleu or Tamiami.

Yes, students come from latin america or asia. Europeans at FIU or in Lakeland?? Okay, that's a brillliant concept.

Well, it's reality

I've worked in both campuses and I can guarantee you that much.

Well there's a lot in this world you're not gonna agree with. You can call it what you want, you can be as arrogant as you want online, but it won't change things. I'm just telling you what I know to be true, I have nothing to prove to you.

Yes, you are right. I got carried away with making flippant remarks. I came back to this thread and re-read my post and corrected it. I apologize.

About hurricanes, we had a big one in 1992 and another one that caused widespread but not catastrophic damage in 2005. I wouldn't worry about hurricanes.

Wilma did to some damage, not as much as Andrew, but we are due since it has been twenty years.
