Specifically, I am wondering what size boats are allowed on the narrower waterways around Miami Beach (Indian Creek, Surprise Lake, Normandy Waterway, etc)? Are powered personal watercraft (Seadoos and similar) allowed here? Does this vary from waterway to waterway? Neighborhood to neighborhood? And finally... what are the limiting factors for watercraft in terms of bridges? How much clearance do boats have under the smallest bridges around Miami Beach?

There are some pretty big yachts docked on these waterways, so I doubt there is much restriction. Except for possible bridge clearances in some places (becoming more of an issue with sea level rise). Of course, speeds are probably limited to no wake because of the manatees.

I have visited friends on several of those canals with my junky 35 foot boat and never had an issue. Only when approaching Fisher Island did I get bothered by the donut boat patrol. There is another area around one of the bay islands where the floating donut eaters try and shoo you away but it's a navigable waterway and despite the hassle we did'nt care. Never had trouble with bridges though.
