From what I understand police protocol is not to give chase to these idiot drivers as it could cause more harm to others travelling the roadway. They are basically letting it die down as this is probably for the most part extra-curricular celebration on MLK holiday

They did not hurt anyone else, what was the big deal? There should be an atv day for everyone at least once a year.

Ist of all some of the atv aren't suppose to be on the road in the first place. 2nd those idiots popping wheelies(60-70 MPH) could end up flipping over therefore causing other injuries or fatalities
and cause injury or death to the idiot himself. 3rd major violations but the police did the right thing by not pursuing them.

agreed. ^

one of those idiots could cause a major accident by cutting someone off or falling off his ATV.

20 or so years ago I collided with an atv that lost control on sw 8th street near the Pit BBQ. I was not hurt and the only damage to my truck was a bent bumper which I straightened out with a press. He was riding along the road and evidently hit a rock or pothole and veered toward the road while I had a semi truck to the left of me. Despite that I do not see how an atv is less of a road hazard than the idiots who drive smart cars while texting on their phone, almost hit one of those on Kendall recently. The sportbike idiots are a lot more dangerous than the 4 wheelers in my opinion. They often race down the palmetto at speeds in excess of 100MPH.

I'm against this kind of thing, but that was cool...for once I don't have a strong opinion.

My favorite crash was not an ATV but a Jet Ski over on the causeway going to Miami Beach. The idiot was racing close to the rocks and turning which was splashing cars driving down the causeway. On one of his runs he got a little too close to the rocks and ended up in the road. Thankfully no one was hurt.

Reminds me of when I was in high school and some idiot on a jet ski splashed me while I was walking to Sunset bowl. He was not so happy when I waited for him on the bridge and gave him a free rock to the head. Also remember when someone on an atc was doing donutss and lost control. flipping over on 107 avenue. I was laughing too much to try and see if he was hurt or not. Your observation of the jet ski rider has got to be the funniest of all!
