Looking for an Afrikaans tutor here in Miami. Private lessons are preferred although I am open to group classes as well.

I'm traveling to South Africa next year and would like to be well versed in the language.

Hey, I think it's wonderful that you're interested in foreign countries, but how long are you going to be there and where are you going? Apparently only 13% of South Africans even speak that language.

Of course, I spent a couple years learning Irish Gaelic, and the number of people who speak that language is also pretty damn few. It did give me unique insight into my cultural heritage though.

Why don't you reach out to the South African embassy (202) 232.4400. They probably have someone who acts on their behalf locally "Honorary Consul" is the term... that person will inevitably know someone who can tutor you.
