Thumbs up Room for rent........

Hi, my wife and I are renting a room very close to the University of Miami in South Miami. It is a very large room with a large closet, central A/C, full bath, refrigerator, and microwave. Cable TV, and High Speed Internet service extra charge. Private parking and entry. No kitchen.
We were renting it for $650.00/month including utilities, plus Cable TV and HS Internet for cost to us!
You'll love the location!

Thanks,

Antonio D. Garcia

I honestly don't think you'll find anything at all between $400-$500 in Miami. Even apartments in the hood are more than that. Like the above poster advertised, you can probably get something starting around the $600 range, but it will be far from luxurious and I'd be very cautious about the area it is in.

UM actually has it's own off-campus housing database to help students find places to live and roommates. It is a great resource: Off-Campus Housing | University of Miami (http://www.sa.miami.edu/off-campus-services/off-campus-housing/ - broken link)

You might want to consider finding a roommate. It may be easier to find something in your price range if you split the rent with someone else.

Best of luck!

what miamiblue said, that is the best place to find a roommate. The chances of you finding a room that cheap is slim to none... I'm in the grove paying 900/month.
