Hello everyone,
I need to know the safe areas for a small family in Miami.
I've read to many post, and I think for me it could be good Coral Gables,
but I would like to know about El Doral.
I'm a single mom of eight years old son, we are going to live there alone
so for me is very important to find a good area for us.
Thank you!

Sorry but I dont write very good in english....

I also know a Spanish family who just moved back to Spain after living here a few years... they didn't like it here.

To each his own but we LOVE raising our kids in Miami -- it's EXACTLY the kind of vibrant and interesting place that we want to broaden their horizons.
And traffic is certainly no worse than Madrid or Barcelona and in my opinion, clearly better.

Coral Gables and Doral are both very nice and safe for families, as is Kendall, the Beaches, Coconut Grove, Aventura and many other areas.
(I don't know your budget, but CGables is the most expensive.)

I would work backwards from a good school and commute (how far from your job) to a place to live. Doral can have terrible commutes unless you work nearby.
If you are a single mom, you are better off giving as much time as possible to your child versus living in a bigger/nicer place farther away.

Just my opinion, buena suerte.

Default That is correct..

That is correct, traffic in Madrid and Barcelona or Seville or you name you city ..can be as bad as in Miami or maybe worse???? sure about that...however...Spain and its cities have a huge and close to perfect public transportation..actually most of families there have just 1 car if any.
Never needed for more

South Florida, Miami, Doral, Coral Gables,or anywhere for that matter...well...without car you are in trouble and the public transportation is well..not the best
Nobody is trying to sell or take anything from anybody.
Miami is a beautiful city, of course, I lived there 12 years, having friends all the way from key Biscaine to El doral, plantation, fort Lauderdale, pembroke pines.everything..and honeslty..for kids..the best place..not really!
as single and with love for action and Party..Miami it is.

Coral Gables and Doral are both very nice areas, but completely different in flavor. Coral Gables is more of an upscale/classy area with lots of greenery (plants, large trees, etc.) while Doral is a typical suburb. Both are nice and safe though.

100% correct, in most cases you need a car in Miami. But I think Madrid's (or Barcelon's or Sevilla's) public transportation is far from "perfect." MUCH better than Miami though, no doubt. Most of my wife's family in Madrid all have 1 car per working person, for example.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, right? Didn't say it was the best, but it is exactly the kind of cultural, vibrant and challenging place that I want our kids to grow up in. If I could afford to live in NYC or London or Paris I would. But Miami isn't too bad FOR US.

You CANNOT compare public transportation in America to ANY city in the the US of A! the only exception probaly New York, Boston, Philadelphia, DC, and San Francisco. The rest will fail miserably to Europe where they are lightyears ahead. If thats really that important to you then you might as well stop looking and just go to the cities already stated.

I live in Doral in gated community and it's very quite and safe gated community or not.

I find the public transportation worse than 3rd world countries and I have been in 3rd world countries . So you need a car . Schools are good to .

Most people speak Spanish very few speak English so it will be easy for you to communicate . Mostly Venezuelans here (residents not citizens) and quite people .

I have been to Spain they drive great compared to Doral atleast they use turn signals but again its quite and safe .
