How about a positive thread!
Things I really enjoyed this month that cost me little or nothing:
1. Walking Miracle Mile.
2. Motorcycling to Key Biscayne/Grove.
-
Actually I walk all around the Gables, the old bank building lobby dome where the Colonnade stands is a real beauty, the firehouse, Books and Books, people watching at Starbucks, all the stores. Great fun.
Motorcycling around the Grove (Old Cuttler) and Key Biscayne!
Doesn't get any better!

The beach! The beach! The beach! Best place in the world to people watch is South Beach. Whenever, things get a little slow and stale, that is where I head to.

The beach.

In Broward the county parks are nice. Some of them have water parks that are pretty inexpensive. I know there is one in CB Smith park in Pembroke Pines and Quiet Waters park in Deerfield Beach. Some of the county parks also have dog parks (Markham Park in Sunrise). I bet Miami Dade has some nice county parks also.

Well, Miami could do with some actual parks (not sure if parks fall under the proposed 'Miami21' plan?).

Anyway, I like to get around sometimes just taking random photographs with the digital camera. Miami (in places) is extremely photogenic, both day and night.

JBravo mentioned Coral Gables -- well. I do go there from time to time to read at the Barnes & Nobles there, or Books & Books.

Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens is also well worth a visit - it's inexpensive and HUGE.

I refuse to bring my bike to Miami, there are too many explosive drivers here. As far as the Coral Gables suggestion, I love Books n' Books. Go there and get a beer and a sandwich while reading a great book. I really don't care for what Coral Gables has become. I hear too much arrogant Spanish and not enough diversity for CG to be a cultural landmark in my book. Funny, it is usually touted as the cultural epicenter of this crazy city.

I like to go to Calle ocho and try different foods and talk to people.

Other times, I'll take a quick drive out in the Kendall area and take a look at some of the nicest houses you'll ever see.

Go to south beach, have a drink or two.

Walk around downtown Miami.

If I recall, on Bayshore there's a nice big park right on the Ocean. There's also Kirk Monroe park about a 5 minute walk from there and there's also another park around the corner. Tropical Park in Kendall..

I think they have plans to build two very grand parks. One at the present bayfront park and one just north of the arena. Not sure if this is a part of Miami 21 but it is a part of the project that the moron Brahman or whatever his name is tried to fight against.

I tried to fight the drawings they have of the plans but cant find them. For bayfront park they were going to build a underground parking garage and then you could walk up to the park. They will have shallow pools with water sprays to have fun in etc. Really beautiful the ideas. Anyway I cant find it but if you googld miami master plan I think you will find it. Also check this out link

I am really impressed with the Miami 21 plan. Hope corruption doesnt stop them from realizing it.

Nicest houses in Kendall? C'mom Burgler, you can do better than Kendall. I thought you were going to say Star Island, Cooper City, or the like.

I'm with you though, South Beach is definitely a fun anytime you get bored.
