I am 23 and since I was 17 I have been moving around, state to state, trying to find a place that I love and want to settle down. I have yet to find a place I can call home. I have been in Boston, MA, Nashville, TN, a few different cities in Orange County, CA, Dothan, AL, Albany, NY and Las Vegas, NV. I have finally sat down and made a list of cities I want to learn about before I make my next (and hopefully long-term) move next year. Here are the main things I am looking for:

*within 15 minutes from a beach
*warm water
*not sunny everyday day all year (unlike Vegas)
*good school/pvt schools (want to start a family with my fiance soon)
*something to do any night of the week and not just on weekends (I hate how I am currently living in Albany, NY and there is nothing to do past 7:00 p.m. on a weeknight, yet again, unlike Las Vegas)
*reasonably affordable because I want to buy within the next 5 years

I don't think that is too much to ask of a city! LoL. I love Las Vegas the most but I felt like I was in a bubble because it was just Las Vegas in the middle of the desert and the next city was 3 hours away! Also, hated the extreme heat and no ocean. Also, it was ALWAYS sunny! SOO, this has brought be in looking in Florida to live. I have been thinking about the Miami area (but I also hear it is not very safe... but I guess most big cities aren't). Would Miami be a good fit for me? Is there somewhere else I should consider? I have also been thinking of Clearwater, FL but I don't know a whole lot about it. Any advice would be awesome!

Uh, you thought Florida might be a place where it's not sunny and hot? Sure we get a lot of rain in the summer, but it's also not overcast every day like in Seattle.

*within 15 minutes from a beach
Unless you live on Miami Beach or nearby, it will take you more than this to get there, considering there's always traffic

*warm water

Check (although sometimes too warm for my taste...)

*not sunny everyday day all year (unlike Vegas)

It's sunny here more often than not, but our "winters" are nice.

*good school/pvt schools (want to start a family with my fiance soon)

Depends on where you live (and some public schools are just as good or better than some private ones here)

*something to do any night of the week and not just on weekends (I hate how I am currently living in Albany, NY and there is nothing to do past 7:00 p.m. on a weeknight, yet again, unlike Las Vegas)

Check

*reasonably affordable because I want to buy within the next 5 years

Define "reasonably affordable." Miami is an expensive place to live.
