I was sifting through some real estate listings for Kalamazoo and wondered what the parking lot around the corner from one was. Turns out to be a meth clinic? Is living near one as unsavory as it sounds at first? Or does it sound worse than it actually is?

Can you give us the closest intersection? I imagine the location would be far more telling then the actual business.

Default Cross Streets

Wheaton & Westnedge. I'm hoping to live in the downtown area, and the Vine Neighborhood seemed like a good place to explore?

That's "Gryphon Place" housed in an old fire station. The Vine Neighborhood is kind of a neat place.

Gryphon Place Help is on the other end of the line.

So it is not a "Meth" Clinic it is a Methadone Clinic. You can google Methadone and you will see for yourself that it is NOT Meth. My husband worked for the Methadone Clinic in Jackson and they are owned by the same people. He said as far as he knows that is where the clinic is. He said that it is in a very nice neighborhood and they don't have issues with rift raft. No one is in the parking lot selling drugs. They are there to get treatment.

The Vine area is mostly rentals, not much actual home ownership. People are moving in and out all the time. A lot are WMU students. Lots of parties.

Yeah, when I went to WMU, we used to call the Vine Neighborhood the "Student Ghetto" because there were so many college kids in the area. Lots of wild college parties, especially from Thursday through Saturday.
