I was born in Detroit (Oakland Co.), but moved to California when I was three (I'm 42 now). I was hoping someone could take some photos of a house I used to visit during the summers as a child, it was my grandfathers house, I really love this house, never cared for Detroit to much, I consider Harrisville my "HOMETOWN" as of it is the first place I have recollections of from when I was three years old. Grampa Gothro died and the house has been sold a long time ago, and I have lost any photos I used to have of the house and property. Its next to the railroad tracks I believe on the north side of the street (see green dot on map), its a big two story house with a pond and garage in the back. It would mean a lot to me if I could get some decent photos of the house and the property, I would even be willing to pay a few bucks via paypal. I know its a long shot, but this is really special and important to me, so I need to try.

Blessings, Jeff

An address would help , I could do it but I won't be going to Tawas until the summer . If you have the address , sometimes putting that into Google will bring up something like a real estate listing with a photo

I'll see what I can do, I don't know the address off hand. You really cant miss the house, as of its right next to the railroad tracks, there are no other houses, and the house on the south side of the street next to the tracks is a single story house. As I remember...if you cross the tracks heading up church street torwards 23, there is nothing on the other side of the tracks except an open field and then on the corner of 23 and church there is a corner store bait shop. As I said, you really can't miss the house...its the closest one next to the tracks.

Looks like the new owners haven't taken as good of care of the property as my grampa did, and the ponds are dry, and it looks like a new house went up in what used to be an open field next to the store bait shop.
