I grew up in Michigan (Lapeer/Flint area) and moved away for many years. I'm now looking to move my family back and we are interested in living in a more rural area to buy a few acres to garden, raise a few animals, etc., So, we are looking in the northnern part of the LP. I have a small pension coming in, so I am not looking to make $40K+/year...as long as it is full time and can slightly above minimum wage, I think we will o.k.

With that said, how difficult do you think it would be to find a full-time job around smaller towns like Alpena, Gaylord, Grayling, etc.,?

If its anything like it was when we were in Gaylord a few years ago, I would have to say that jobs are mighty slim, and hard to come by.

What type of experience do you have? KBS The facility maintenance janitorial company I work for always has openings for good dependable people up here. Right now I know they are looking for someone in Oscoda, Gaylord, Cheyboygan, and alpena probably 20-25 hours week at start out at $8-$9 hour. Cleaning K-mart stores early mornings.

Hey just drove to East Tawas the other day, saw some billboards advertising jobs for $9 an hour at a call center. It would most likely be horrible but it is something!
