I am looking to rent a car from the 19th to the 24th of this month for a trip to North Carolina. Problem is...I am 24. Even though I have a clean driving record, everyone wants to charge me $25/day extra for being under 25. This is almost doubling the price of the rental. Does anyone know of a place that doesn't charge this crazy amount? Oh, and I am in Livonia (Metro Detroit).

Sorry, can't help you. My daughter (who was in the Air Force at the time) ran into the same problem -- even tho she was military and had a guaranteed paycheck.

use priceline, name your own price, make sure they know you are under 25 and they will waive the fee or reduce it! At least that's what I do, hope I got to you in time.
