A realtor could help you find a rental. I would look on Zillow and Realtor.com under rentals to give you a feel for what's out there. If you see something of interest call the listing agent. I'm very familiar with West Bloomfield and less so Novi but did live there. If you find something I can tell you about the area.

I don't have experience with any of the complexes listed, but regarding train noise- most people will get used to it. When I was 5, we moved into an apartment that was a few hundred feet from some train tracks. I remember having problems with it at first. My mom did as well. When I was 10, we moved to a house that was about 1/2 mile from the tracks, but across an open field without trees or any other kind of sound buffer. I moved out as an adult and was away for about 13 years. Last March, I moved to my current house- a little less than a mile from the same train tracks, but with houses and trees between. I have to listen to hear the train. I automatically tune it out. I had lived here at least a month before I noticed that I could hear it. (Ironically, my mom moved from the house we moved into when I was 10 to her current house a few years ago. She lives between me and the train tracks. About 1/2 mile from them again. She can't hear it, either. And she was an adult when she first lived near them.)

Thanks. Do you know anything about Chimney Hill Village in West Bloomfield? Their prices were so reasonable for a good amount of space. Just wondering what the '"catch" is if there was any lol

The location is good but I'm not familiar with the apartments. My friend lives in Brandywine in WB and likes it but those are more expensive. You may want to call and get price quote maybe there running a special.

Yea Novi and West Bloomfield are far from ghetto. It comes down to weather or not you want more scenery but a long drive to many amenities or more of a cookie cutter scenery but a short drive to everything. Novi I believe is a little big cheaper but getting more expensive.
