Looks like there will be one last shot of summer this week with temps close to 80. Some of you will be happy for that.

This will be the last summer like weekend. After this we may not touch 70 again . Enjoy any remaining summer activity this weekend.

A strong cold front will come by tomorrow and by next weekend the nights will go below freezing. This might be the week that ends outdoor dining, nobody wants to eat outdoors when it’s a frosty 45 outside.

From Mark’s blog on MLive, I heard snowflakes will fly in the UP. Looking forward to updates on what actually happens.

Going up north (lower penninsula) the colors should be great, although a week shy of peak.

It is dull and drizzly, but did you look at next weekend? Mid 70's I can't wait

Yeah, I’m taking a trip for fall colors next weekend instead of this weekend because it would be more comfortable. I’m probably going to sleeper state park in the thumb region.

Next weekend 10/10 should be peak colors for most of the inland areas up north.
It wasn't quite there yet this past weekend, still a lot of green, particularly in the understory and anywhere a bit lower.

The shoreline areas are still 95% green and still 2-3 weeks out.

The weather in the next 7-10 days looks like another nice shot of seasonally warm and dry weather.

Get after it while you can!

True, but you also need to be careful. I have a feeling this weekend will see a rapid uptick in COVID cases due to social gatherings and lack of masks in the entire western half.
Enjoy the outdoors, but keep social distancing in mind.
