Top 5 Road Trips destinations in Michigan:
1. Top 5 spots for Winter
2. Top 5 spots for Summer.

I have the last week or so of the year off and I am debating doing a road trip. It will likely be solo with or without the medium sized dog.

So I thought I could pick your brains for Michigan destination ideas.

Keweenaw peninsula
Marquette
Porcupine mountains
Pictured rocks
Mackinaw bridge

Don't waste your time south of the bridge.

Au Sable River - eithe a canoe/Kayak trip for a few days or camping along the dunes.

Charlevoix/Petosky/Harbor Springs

Munising

Canyon Falls/Kewanau Penninsula.

Taquamenon Falls.

In the winter, I would just go someplace witha lot of long nice trails and rent a snowmobile. Or maybe a ski weekend at Boyne or Nubs knob or crystal (or if you want to drive forever Big snow). I am nto a fan of long winter road trips, especially in the UP. Too easy to get caught in miserable driving conditions. I prefer to stay within a few hours of a place to stop and sleep.
