What exactly is that? I know Wares on 8th St. has a good reputation, but I am unsure about the rest.

Its a place where you can purchase a car, and pay them, instead of going through banks.

Won't any car lot take cash or a cashiers check?

If you find one, avoid it. NO ONE needs a car that bad.

Most places like that basically make money not off the sale of the car, but through legalized rape interest rates and penalties. Where ever you are now financially, they will likely make your situation far worse.

Find other means of transportation temporarily, save some money, then buy a car in a conventional manner.

Maybe your right. We are moving up there within the next two weeks, and we were debating wether the car we have now is worth it. Thank you for your advice, i appreciate it.
Rapunzell..buy here pay here is like you put so much down, and pay so much every week, not outright buy a vehicle off the bat.

Those buy here pay here places are like playing Russian Roullette . You drive the car off the lot, the tranny goes, don't matter. F you, pay me. Alternator not functioning? F you , pay me. They buy cars from the auction, do not rehab them and sell them as is. They'll buy a Ford Taurus for $2500 from an auction, wash it, then sell it for $13000. The guys who own those companies make a fortune and have unlisted phone numbers.

Stay away from williams, they are a bait and switch lot. They have a very bad reputation.

Ah, I see. I agree with the others though, it doesn't sound like a good thing.

What is wrong with your current vehicle, what make is it?

for what you would have to put down as a down payment at one of these places, you could almost buyout right from a craigslist seller
