Its true , a lot of folks who live,work,play , here in the Wolverene State go about their daily activities....and don't stop to smell the flowers,...ever. I know of no other state that is surounded by so much fresh water as Michigan.
As far as traffic , try I-75 southbound from up north any sunday afternoon in the warmer months. Its bumper to bumper all the way ! US 31 is not much better for those west siders.... Kinda strange Northern Michigan has not grown more, with all the north woods/ bays & water lovers making the trip north- then south on Sunday.
You have seen it yourself, on your trips to Upper Michigan....we do not have that problem...only one Interstate and it is never busy. We have almost more Canadians traveling US 41/ US 2 /Rt.28 , as its a shortcut across Canada....for truckers.... Maybe we should think of a Yooper toll road across Superior land....naw , the money would only go downstate anyway. I think we will wait for statehood first, only been tried 5 times...maybe the sixth will be a winner !
