Ok, I am curious as to what people think of the idea of a donation type of tax. Everyone hates the Gov. just taking from us, but could Michigan benefit from just asking for donations to help the state? I know there are enough people who do love Michigan enough to want to help, but would never agree to a tax hike, so what about say you go to Meijers, and at the end of checking out they ask you if you want to make any kind of "donation" for our state. I would probably do it quite a bit IF I knew it was actually going to be put to use for important things. I mean, if 5,6,7 million people did $1.00 or .50 a week, it would add up. What are your thoughts? Is it just plain crazy?

I know, and I dont really want to donate to the federal Govt. And I know you can also donate to the state, but I am talking say something specific, maybe they ask to donate for, I dont know....maybe use better materials to fix the roads, or help for small business startup, something specific that you know when you donate, you know where its going. (if thats possible)
