Okay. I'm 18 yrs old will be 19 next month and I was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder when I was 17. It hasn't really done much. I had my transfusion about 3 or 4 months ago and I started this medicine that controls it so I don't have any problems. When I was not using it I was just really tired but nothing I couldn't live with..and eating right and excercising keep my system from reacting..will that disqualify me from joining the Navy or the Navy Reserves? I haven't talked to a recruiter yet because I wanted to give my body some time to adjust. I've been doing really well since I started and my doctor says my blood count looks much better than when I first came to him. Well, I was kind of rambling..but any advice? If you recruit your advice is especially helpful. Thank you!

See a recruiter and see what they say. They do not make the medical decisions. You will be asked about your past medical history no matter what service you want to join.
