Meps - 3rd degree scars and a 25 years old visible stitched scar a problem?

Sorry to hear about your troubles. There is a disconnect at times between the recruiters and what happens at the MEPS. Sometimes the recruiters are new, sometimes not informed and sometimes they tell you what you want to hear. Have your Son keep trying. Especially if he really wants to be in the military.

Is there another MEPS nearby? When I was enlisting in the Marine Corps my recruiters knew that my ear's would be an issue with the Doc at my hometown MEPS. So they took me over to the Seattle MEPS to get me qualified. Perhaps you could do that as well?

smann811-Sorry to hear what your son is going through, but it is good to see what the military is really about.

They do not love you, they are neither friends nor family.

You will be in service so long as you meet their needs and discarded as soon as you don't.

Veteran's forums are full of heartbreaking stories of what happens after your service is done.

Not saying it's a bad thing; I'd enlist again given the same circumstances. Just know going in what the relationship is.
