With increasing inflation, there are significant increases in pipeline for retiree COLA. 3% to 5% is being pushed as is significant civilian and military pay raises. Bot civilian pay raises and retiree COLA increases have been rare but 2022 seems like a banner year for increases!

If they are going to raise the minimum wage, print trillions of dollars which devalues the currency, keep giving away stimulus checks and unemployment benefits so people can choose to stay home, they might as well increase the pay of people who actually deserve it.

In prior years, COLA increases were openly dismissed but this year, both houses (House of Reps and Senate) want to retirees the biggest increase in at least 30 years. Exciting times to be at the table of giving.

Default Funding to increase in FY22

Oth the Senate and House have not only added the COLA increases into the latest NDAA for FY22, they have added $25 billion more than President Biden’s proposal.

With both parties of the Senate and House agreeing to more Funding for DOD, it’s looking like Congress will have to override a possible veto of President Biden. Clearly the funding “differences” are significant.
