Alterra, no contest. They've been voted "Ten Hottest Coffeehouses" by Forbes Traveler Magazine and one of ten places "to get the best coffee in America" by GQ Magazine, and those honors are definitely well-deserved. The one on Prospect Ave. is my favorite, and I'm also looking forward to the new location in Bay View.

I think my favorite out of the handful that I've been to would have to be Fiddleheads in Theinsville. It has a very nice atmosphere, a very beautiful old building, and the riverside patio is great in the summer and fall.

For me it is definitely Alterra as well, I like the coffee and the atmosphere. My favorite one is the one by the lake.

I've been favoring the new Alterra in Shorewood, though I like the other locations I've been to. The Shorewood location is easy to stop at on my way to work, and it's quite spacious with a good seating selection. I also like Fixx in St. Francis and Sven's in Bayview, but rarely get over to those parts of the city.
