I would look into Yankee Hill or Juneau Village, both near Jackson Street. There are a fair amount of south asian people living in the area, usually singles but many young families too. Also, there are a couple apartment buildings on East Lyon Street, east of Astor Street... there are a fair amount of south asian people living near there too.

This is just from my own observations of living, working & spending time in the area.

Good luck on your search

There are other buildings in the area that you might consider too... I just listed the largest. There is also City Green apartments & the Astor Hotel has apartments as well. Like I mentioned, there are many apartments in the area, just keep looking online & on craigslist.
