Hi all.

Has anyone had experience using Qwest internet in Plymouth recently? I currently have a 12 Meg line through Comcast and I am happy with the service, but Qwest is advertising a 12 Meg line for half the Comcast price for 6 months. I'll mainly be using the line for hulu, facebook and email.

Thanks all
Paul

How does the price compare AFTER the 6 months? You will be locked into a 2 year contract most likely and will you save money in the long run?

I'm out in Orono and have Qwest's 12meg line and it's fine. I pay about a dollar less than I did for the 1.5meg line bundle if you can believe that. Both have a land line bundled in with absolutely no features. I tried to work something out with Comcast but this house (built in the 20's) has never had it and they get confused about that. I have no time to explain to the callcenter in China/India why they can;t find it and don't want to wait 24-48 hours for a callback so they can talk to me and do the math. (Yeah, that's a lot of ranting but at least I used punctuation, right?)

I'm happy with Qwest but be sure to confirm the installation date. They kinda space out on that stuff.

After 2 days in a row of Comcast outages, I am shopping Qwest DSL and they no longer require a contract or an accompanying phone line, although you pay $15/mo more for internet without a phone line; after the special intro-bribe deals expire it will be cheaper than Comcast because Comcast forces you to buy basic cable or pay much more. Hope this works out!
