I noticed that you can pay for access to NFL audio streams from NFL.com. I also know that you can usually stream 100.3 online for free. Can you still stream 100.3 FM even on Vikings game day and hear the vikings game for free or do they turn off online streaming during the Vikings game?

appears as if KFAN does not stream the Vikings games but there are several other means available and apparently 3 free radio streams tho I can't say that I've tried them.

How to Listen to Minnesota Vikings Radio Broadcast & Stream Games Live Online (NFL Radio)

I have had success before picking up cable broadcasts thru Al Jazeera (not kidding) and was watching the Pats/Jets game last night through their channel. Just google Al Jazeera Vikings vs Bears right at game-time.

From that page:

"To stream to Vikings games online as well as every other NFL game, you may also want to check out NFL Audio Pass or SiriusXM Radio. NFL Audio Pass allows you to listen to your favorite NFL games online all in one place at NFL.com."

You can't get streaming audio of games because the NFL has made a deal with Sirius. I was trying to listen to the game on my phone last Sunday and none of the Minnesota or Chicago online feeds worked for play by play - they were just network recap shows. I was particularly PO'ed because my old pay as you go drug dealer phone at least had a FM tuner, but my fancy new Galaxy S4 doesn't. But, gosh, why would they give you the ability to use free entertainment when they can continue to charge you data and subject you to ads through an app?

If you're anywhere near the Twin Cities, just use or buy a good AM/FM radio. No shame in using older technology. I've heard this one works particularly well, especially if coupled to an external antenna:

Amazon.com : Grundig G8 Traveler II Digital AM/FM/Shortwave Radio with Auto Tuning Storage - Black (NG8B) : Portable Shortwave Radios : Electronics

Well here's what I found out.

The sirius XM trial does not include NFL games, the trial only includes a PORTION of Sirius XM stations, none of which are NFL games.

IHeartRadio broadcasts KFAN, but during Vikings games, you don't get Vikings, you get a generic sports talk radio station instead.

The NFL has an NFL Mobile App but you have to subscribe to NFL Audio Pass to stream game audio from them.

If you want to listen outside the Twin Cities for free its virtually impossible. You get punished for being a Vikings fan and living outside of the home team's state.

I have not tried a short wave radio but that might work.

You could always stream the live TV broadcast from FirstRow Live Football Stream | Watch Live Football Online | Live Soccer Stream, and just listen to the audio feed.
