I started a new job last month in downtown Minneapolis, and I'm still trying to decide the best option for parking. I basically work 8-5 M-F, and I'm right across the street from the Target Center.

Until I decide to take the bus from the SW suburbs, I plan to continue driving.

Any suggestions for lots/ramps with good parking rates? Right now I pay a $7.00 daily rate in a ramp that doesn't offer contract parking while the new Twins Stadium is under construction.

Ouch! That's a lot of cabbage!

I think once the contract parking becomes available again, I believe the monthly rate is $140 (which works out to exactly what I'm paying on a daily basis: $7 x 20 days). I'll keep researching though.

Thanks, Still!

One source to check is the Downtown Journal's parking Guide (which is on page 23 of their Downtown Guide).

There's also a transit/parking office on the second floor of US Bank Plaza (near the skyway going across 6th Street to Capella Tower (225 S 6th St)). They could also give you info on various parking options.

Just drive around downtown sometime on a sunday when the streets are clear and do some exploring. you will find there are alot of ramps and lots that offer contract parking...they might be 5-6 blocks away but your downtown so its walkable especially in the winter with the skyway system. I know ive seen some priced as cheap as like 86 bucks.

Thanks for the advice! Yes, I will check out that link on the Downtown Journal.

I'm getting familiar with the skyway system - have used it a few times to run to the bank when it's rained.

Another factor is - where I park now is in the B ramp of the ABC Parking - and when the Twins stadium opens next April, it's going to be a zoo on game days. I don't know if they'll change the rates of parking based upon the stadium opening or not. I think thats where contract parking will definitely be a preferred option.
