Hello! I'm going to be new to the Minneapolis area and am wondering what an average salary for a Sr Business Analyst at UnitedHealth Group is...

Check some of the online job search companies such as Monster.com and Career Builders. com for job opportunities. They often list starting salaries and salary ranges there; I have noticed that United Health uses some of these companies to find new employees.

Default Salaries at UHG

Salaries are pretty good on a management level, for senior analyst you can count on 70-80 thousand a year depending on your experience. Health insurance is very, very bad though and expensive.

I have heard that UHC pays pretty well, like the previous poster said 70-80k a year at least, but personally I would never leave the healthcare company I work for to go to UHC. I have heard they are quick to let people go and everyone I've talked to (granted these are people that left the company and came to mine one way or another) said they treat their employees fairly horrible. But, if you're a 9-5er that can leave it behind everyday when you leave work, who cares?

Were you offered this position without being told what it pays? My guess would be near $ 100K/annum.

It definitely depends how much experience you have. Some Sr. Analysts make over $100K but they have 20 years experience, but if someone has say 5 years or less and just inherited the title they don't make much more than $60K-$65K. They'll mention a "salary grade" and Sr's start at 26 and go to maybe 27 or so....I'm not really sure. I'm assuming this is how it works across the country but I know this is how it works at UHG (I work there and am an analyst).

The OP hasn't posted in over 2 1/2 years. Probably President of UHC by now.
