I wouldn't go there to buy my monthly supply of groceries, I leave that for Cub or Sam's.
Agreed. One of the things I also like about Coborns is they bag your groceries for you.

I do know that Coborn's took over Simon Delivers.

These rumors have swirled for years, heightened when they bought Simon Deliver's. I don't think it much matters one way or the other, neither store does much to impress me. At least Hyvee offers an awesome buffet with comfort food and chinese and fruit. etc. Customers are shifting away from purchasing at traditional grocery stores anyways.

HyVee, shop HyVee, where there's a helpful smile in every aisle! I'm from western Illinois, originally, and have to say hands down, HyVee is the best grocery company around. They treat their employees well, keep prices low, serve hot food, and plug-in to the communities they serve. All in all, an example of a great corporate citizen.

I agree. I like Hy-vee the best. The bakery is awesome!
There is a Hy-Vee in my hometown in Missiouri, and I was so glad that there was one not too far from me in Marshall when I moved up here. Mankato has a few as well, but I think thats as far north as they go.

No Byerlys in St. Cloud is owned by Lunds. There is no affiliation with Coborn's whatsoever. Byerlys in St. Cloud is the cheapest place to get a Gallon of Milk FYI. Byerlys is a great store. You get what you pay for. Coborn's cheese is cheaper(domestic) vs. Byerlys(imported). Byerlys Grass fed beef (quality) vs. Feed lot beef (cheap). Just shopped the Byerlys store and the national brand pasta sauce was .20-.35 cents cheaper at Byerlys. (Classico, Prego, Ragu). Byerlys gets a bad rap because they have a tremendous amout of quality, gourmet items that deserve a higher retail and it leaves a bed impression in people's minds.

Cub sucks except for staples. Terrible produce. Weak meat dept. Less than stellar deli. Coburns is excellent, but it is true, the prices are higher. Guess it's the old addage of 'you get what you pay for'.
