Question Advice needed for student moving to Mankato

Hi all! I'm living in Ohio and planning to move to Mankato to go to school at MSU-Mankato. I need some advice!

What apartments/apartment complexes should I look at? What apartments/apartment complexes should I avoid?

What should I know/do before moving to Mankato? (Or Minnesota in general . . .)

I'm planning on visiting for a few days soon, before I move. What places should I try to visit? What things should I do?

All advice appreciated!

Sorry, I had to do it.

Seriously... Mankato is a smallish town of around 35,000 (with North Mankato across the river adding another 12,000 or so). It's built in and on top of the Minnesota River valley, so you have some nice steep hills and views in places, and the river itself runs through a huge canal in the middle of town. Flood prevention.

Most what what I remember from my time at Mankato State is probably either gone or changed. This more serious page might help give you some pointers:

I am from Mankato and work there but I do live 30 minutes from town. I don't know much about the apartments as in which are the best and which are the worst... but there are plenty to choose from! Mankato in general is very nice as is the campus and they both sure have grown in the past years. I will tell you that some of the apartments are not cheap from what I hear, but if you can get a roommate that will help with costs.

I would just recommend do a google search, something like, apartments in Mankato, as many of the apartments are listed/advertised and will show photos of the rooms and will indicate what the rent is etc. I would make a list of what is in your budget and then spend a day going to look.

Good Luck.
