Well, I can assure you that pretty much every home and business in southern Minnesota has air conditioning and they are pretty much on full blast all summer just as they do in the south. You step into an office building or store from the warm, humid air and nearly freeze to death!

You could give Alaska a try (:

Wow where do you shop? I was in wal-mart today and it was so miserable I abandoned my cart andgot back in the car. The only cool place in the local grocery store is directly over the meat coolers or in the door of the freezers. My AC runs probably 14 hours a day and the house is still like 85 degrees in the afternoon.

The heat index is over 100F up here in Southern Minnesota as well today!
here in AR it is breaking today, but only for a couple of days. We had a miserable, snowy winter, followed by constant spring rains and then, in just about a week or two summer hit..I am wondering what we can look forward to come Oct and on.

Yes, were getting a good break here as well. The weather is calling for it to return on Saturday though. Oh well, could be worse, we did have a really nice spring up here.

I shop at the usual local stores (target, grocery store, wal-mart, hardware). The wal-mart by my house is usually pretty cold when I walk in there, too cold for what I would prefer anyway. They must be more stingy down there when it comes to cranking up the AC.??

I guess we are getting paid back after last year not being so hot. I think we only hit 100 one time.
This is a good site to check for north Mississippi.

The same here. We have lived in AR for 3 years, this is our 4th summer and the first 3 were awesome, followed by nice winters. Oh sure a snow storm here and there and a couple of ice storms, but then last year hit. Up to and including Thanksgiving the weather was wonderful. The first week of Dec it started, record breaking snow clear to and including March. That was followed by record rain fall and June brought the heat, like what you guys are getting. It has been awful.
