Has anyone ever heard of this place? I heard someone talking about it and I have never heard it in my life.

It's just a wide spot in the road in LeFlore County. Not even an incorporated municipality.

Correction: Tallahatchie County

yeah, just one of those "blink and you miss it" areas. All you see from the highway is a couple mom/pop stores and maybe a couple houses. never turned off the highway to see how much more there is to it.

It is a place where Highway 8 crosses over the main line of the Canadian National (formerly Illinois Central) Railway between Chicago and New Orleans. Earlier this month I drove to Grenada one Saturday night to pick up Mom, who was returning from a nephew's funeral in Jacksonville, Fla. with some other relatives. As I was approaching the highway bridge, I looked to the south and saw a train headlight. I turned off the highway onto a gravel road that led to the tracks. The train turned out to Amtrak's northbound[i]City of New Orleans[i]. I looked into the lighted passenger cars as the train passed through the night and wondered if any of the passengers were trying to view the Delta scenery.
