Nothing released yet but based on the mission and the limited details available I'm guessing mid-air collision with another aircraft while refueling. Sad all around. God bless them.

If there was a collision, I would think the other aircraft would also crash.

Like I said, not much released officially from the military but details so far that are suggestive of a mid-air:
-KC 130 (which is a tanker.... so the mission is obviously refueling another aircraft)
-16 fatalities (not impossible that 16 people would be aboard a KC 130 but not likely)
-debris scattered over a wide area
-bodies found in separate locations (would happen if aircraft broke apart in mid-flight, but doesn't look to be the case)
-reports of damaged/smoking plane as it crashed
-pictures of KC130 show relatively intact, "pancaked" plane with pattern in vegetation suggesting a flat stall into the ground

Obviously speculating but.......
