Hi,
I was looking for suggestions on where to purchase fresh seafood off the boat in Gulfport? If this is not an option, are there seafood markets near Gulfport (or Biloxi) as an alternative option? Thanks for any advice you could provide!

I don't know specifics, but both google and yelp list seafood markets up and down the coast along with ratings and reviews. I would imagine you also could get great advice by simply driving up to the marinas in each town along the coast and asking. There seems to be a very long list of such places.

Likely there is a "Let's talk Gulfport" Facebook Page (or something similar) or maybe even a reddit page that will have more information and activity than this forum.

When you see what the water looks like you won't want to eat anything out of it. I was in Bilosey 2 weeks ago.

City folks only eat fish that was assembled in a factory.

Yeah, I bet you were. But I'll indulge, since I've lived all over the Gulf Coast.

You want clean water, go East. But funny enough, the food gets worse the farther east you go. The food in Florida by and large is a pile of crap, overpriced, and you have to wade through the crap restaurants to find the good ones. Gulf Shores is in the middle, better food, but less clean water (but beaches are still great). Cross into MS and the food gets better, water/beach is much worse. Into LA, food is best, but water is as bad as it gets, and there is no beaches.

Color of the coastal water has NOTHING to do with the seafood, unless there's an opposite correlation. I just happen to think there's more people doing real fishing in the dirty water because you don't have the actual beach-going tourism.

seafood off the boat, yes i have done it, but: if they pull up to the supplier pier, it belongs to the supplier. You can buy from the supplier. many of them at gulfport harbor, cost a little more but just ten minute older. there a lot of pickups with coolers in parking lot, selling morning catch

the big boats, it might be a week old because they stay out longer
