I'm looking for replies from people who have installed solar PV or small wind and tied into the net metering program offered in Missouri, particularly those who have KCP&L as a utility provider.

Did you do-it yourself or hire a contractor?

What has your experience been?

What type of system did you install and how many Kwh was it rated to produce?

What percentage reduction in electrical bills are you experiencing monthly?

And if you don't mind divulging the approximate cost of your solar energy generating system.

Thank you in advance.

Ok, since there are nothing but crickets..........

Anyone enrolled in net metering in Missouri through utilities/co-ops other than KCP&L who are willing to share their experiences?

MO is way behind the times with regard to the citizenry opting for net metering. Heck, they are still building filthy coal plants when EE, wind, and natgas should be pushed hard.

That's what you get when you're home to 3 of the top 5 coal companies. Peabody, Arch, and Patriot. And with all the new super clean coal technology....

North West MO is home to many large wind farms, so HQ'd in StL. And we recently passed a ballot measure to increase funding for such clean alternatives. We may be far behind, but it appears maybe we have begun to right the ship.
