There's more to life and satisfaction than the almighty dollar and a certain peace comes with remaining true to your values while all around you are either losing theirs or never had any to begin with. Selling a culture to the highest bidder may appeal to some but thankfully, not all. That handily goes right along with the initial "disagreements" in this thread.

Dear OP, I'd fully recommend you stay away from Missouri if what you stated are your true intensions.

There's a gay campground down the hill from where I have property. They had some hard times when they first moved into the area but it seems they've got things pretty well whipped into shape by now.

MO has a high proportion of loud-mouthed bigots - as we've seen from postings on these forums. I've lived in the state for about 25 years now, or close to it. Mostly I get along by finding like-minded liberals and ignoring the rest. They're dying out, slowly, slowly - but surely. Not everybody is that stupidly pigheaded, but the more moderate folks tend to be just that - more moderate and not very noisy.

I would not suggest Springfield. Columbia is pretty liberal given the rest of the state.

PM me and I'll get you contact info for the gay campground, maybe they'll talk to you about potential problems and how to face them.

Too soon and inappropriate.
