I'm in the market for a small(ish) SUV/Crossover/CUV. My sister owns an Outlander and loves it. Other cars I've looked at are the Nissan Rogue, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, and the Toyota Rav4.

I'm wondering if I should hold off on making any purchase until I can check out the Mitsubishi once it's released late Oct/Nov? The price is sweet for the options you can get. A fully loaded Outlander Sport with navi and heated seats (a must in Chicago) can be had for around $26-27K MSRP. For the same price, I could go with the Nissan Rogue w/o the heated seats. The Toyota felt kind of cheap to me, which really surprised me. I typically love Toyotas (I have a Sienna), and the Honda's are pretty pricey. I'm a little leery on a Hyundai, but maybe unreasonably so?

Are there other CUV's I've missed in this price range? I don't really like the styling of any of the American models. They have boxier bodylines and just aren't as appealing to me.

I wish they would just release the newly redesigned 2011 O-Sport so I can rule it in or out already.

Wait until it comes out and then compare. Personally, I don't like the front end of it but otherwise it looks decent.

I currently have a Mitsubishi Eclipse that has 131K miles on it. It's been a good car and right now is still growing strong-I've had it since 2001. If you buy one, I think you can count on the engine for sure.

I'd go with a Hyundai over a Mitsubishi any day of the week. When the new Outlander is released maybe I'll change my mind but Mitsubishi really has been the armpit of Japanese auto manufacturers for years. Unappealing products at unappealing prices.
