I have heard that the actor Steven Seagal is a trained fighter in real life. I once knew a guy that worked odd type jobs on Hollywood movie sets and he said that Seagal was rather demanding on the set and usually everyone listened to him and went along with whatever he wanted. Seagal had a demanding style and would get in peoples faces as he was a tough fighter in real life. I was told one time Seagal was demanding on a movie set and pissed off the wrong stunt man and was knocked out cold by the stunt man after trying to intimadate him. This stunt man did not have any fighting training or skills but literally knocked out Seagal.

What kind of training does Steven Seagal have?

From IMDB:

- Although he is a master in Aikido and Kendo, he also holds black belts in Karate and Judo.
- The UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) and MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) Brazilian Fighter, Anderson "The Spider" Silva has learned some moves with him.
- For almost 20 years, Seagal has been working as a fully commissioned deputy with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana.
- Broke Sean Connery's wrist when he was teaching him martial arts during the filming of Never Say Never Again (1983).

Steven Seagal - Biography

He's fairly skilled.

Jason DeLucia: Where is He Now? - The Challenge . . . . . . . Apparently he was too scared to fight that guy. On his wiki page, says he graduated from Police Academy in Califas over twenty years ago. Was his movie career winding down then or something?

Jason DeLucia would flat out destroy Segal. DeLucia is the real deal. He started out as an accomplished Kung-Fu fighter, whom Royce Gracie quickly unaccomplished in UFC 2. He actually fought Gracie right before this and lost too (on YouTube w/Rorion Gracie narrating). Then DeLucia started cross training the ground and started fighting in Japan where he did well. Just not great.

Segal is not an accomplished fighter. I don't think he ever fought. Aikido works awesome when someone feeds you their hand and let you throw them and crap. He certainly is an expert in Aikido, but who cares about Aikido?

He's a Sheriff's Deputy, but what small town wouldn't want a movie star to deputize? Least it would do is generate income for the town. And Aikido actually does aid the cops as they do use certain wrist restraints. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y434mL2B1Zg

And Silva and Machida being trained by Master Fatty? Probably due to them wanting to get a foot into Hollywood. Segal's movies are crap, but he's still probably the most successful American MA moviestar of all time. He's cranking out 1-2 straight to DVD, sh.tty movies a year for every single year almost, since his first (and best) one...Above the Law.....ok maybe Under Seige was good too, but that's it.

That wasn't a knockout , it was a CHOKEOUT and it was Judo Gene Lebell and Gene choked him out to the point that Seagal crapped his pants..literally.

And it was all the result of Seagals big mouth , and Seagal has ducked a couple of other folks in the H'Wood stunt community and martial arts circles surrounding it , Bob Wall being another one he ducked.

You actually believe that crap? He was fairly proficient in Aiki at one time , but as far as rank , well when your diddling the Snsei's daughter than rank comes right easily.

Y'all need to research the stories on Seagal that he doesn't want heard , he's an inflated ego scumbag and a bully , a woman beating *******.

Like I say about accusation, provide proof or your just blowin smoke. You could be 100000% right but without FACTS its worthless just like anything else about Seagal.

It seems you don't know a lot about the combat applications of Aikido, and about the massive differences between the SPORT of MMA and the MARTIAL ART of Aikijujutsu. Two very different beasts.
