I'm looking at a job opportunity in Mobile and knowing little about the city, thought I'd drop a question about crime stats, desirable/undesirable places to live. etc. This may well be my last move of my life and one reason I'm considering Mobile is the coast. I am an avid salt water fisherman. (it's my only real hobby) and like to spend as much time feeding that hobby as possible. Any input?

Mobile is a great place to live if your one for saltwater mardi gras and love historic places. Its a mid size city and the crime rate isn't too bad. Schools are great. I think youd like it here. Spring hill is an affluent area in Mobile and a very desired residential area, so finding a place there may be difficult. There's many other nice places to live here in Mobile juat do some research. Historic homes in Midtown and Downtown are nice. As well as homes in west Mobile.
