Default fresh seafood off the boat?

Hey everyone,
First off, I have just moved to Mobile, and I am really enjoying myself. Its been a great experience so far, but I need some fresh seafood! I hope this isn't a secret society on this matter because I have searched all over the internet for this answer lol. Where can I go to buy seafood off of the boat? I am mainly looking for shrimp. Also any public area I can go to fish or crab? Disclaimer: Sorry for these probably obvious answered questions, but please throw in any advice.

Thanks,

I know of a fresh seafood spot on Holcombe Avenue. Take Govt west bound to t were it forks at Auto Zone .Go left of the fork that`s Holcombe Avenue, the seafood market will be to your left you will know when your close when you see Church`s Chicken .

Most people go fishing and crabing in the Bay,Dog River,Dauphin Island,or down in the Bayou !!!

You need to go to Bayou La Batre. Go down there and cruise around and you'll see some signs. Many of the shrimp companies there are wholesale, but you'll still find a few people who'll sell you some. You will see some sell it off of the back of their trucks. My parents bought some shrimp from one of the Vietnamese shrimpers a few weeks ago, fresh off the boat.

Yeah, ask around. My dad occasionally buys nice shrimp right off the boat. It's just being in the right place at the time.

There's also a good place at the intersection of DIP (Dauphin Island Parkway) and Government St. that is right by the railroad tracks. Not sure of the exact name, but it's the Mudbugs place that says "We got ya mudbugs here." There is a similar place a few blocks down on the same side of the street, also. There are a couple other places but that's the main one I can think of.
