It's a bad name for a business anywhere unless you are planning a children's petting zoo type of park.
I grew up in Hamilton and we always referred to Missoula as either; Missoula (of course) or Zootown. If you want to get really whimsical we've even referred to it as Zootonia.

Put me down as another that never heard that nickname.

I've lived in Idaho and Montana since the mid 80s and missed it.

You might be fine using "zoo town". There is a christian coffee shop that recently opened up downtown that's called "Zoo Town Brew", and there's an art center on the Northside called "Zootown Arts Community Center" that has children's art classes and whatnot. I'm sure there are more family-friendly businesses that seem to be doing well that have incorporated "zoo town" in their name. These are just a couple that I can think of.

Maybe the name is used by a younger demographic, though. So I guess it would make the most sense to use "zoo town" in your name if your target audience is younger adults with children.
