Hi all.

OK, I post two threads since I became a member here last month (UTAH Forum).

Long story short, I am a French student in California I wanted to visit Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana during Spring break, and because of the weather conditions, I did only visit the first three.

My question:

I got a week off starting from April 22 and would like to fly to Bozeman to see the city, go to Big Sky and Yellowstone.

To my recollection from what the good friends who commented in my past threads, late April might be a good time to do this trip.

Will the road from Bozeman to Yellowstone be safe? I'd like to take a day trip to Yellowstone and be back to Bozeman on the same day (it's to West Yellowstone, right?).

Any ideas? thoughts?

Thanks!

Might be better to try to go to park early in the trip over later. Some scattered snow, ice and rain expected. Milder temps in Bozeman but still some precipitation forecast. If you pick the best day you probably can get in and out. But check and decide. Call up the park rangers if in doubt.

Most roads still closed but north entrance open and west entrance soon. West entrance probably will have more snow and more new snow potential. May be able to do loop.

Other options in area:

Chico Hot Springs. For the Springs and socializing if you want,
Madison Buffalo Jump State Park (west of Bozeman)
Livingston downtown and the Yellowstone River.
