If you really want to be isolated I found what looks like a pretty great property outside of Salmon, ID for 1500/mo. It's even river front property. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2...04642940_zpid/

You'd be in Idaho, but on the Montana boarder. Salmon, ID is just a few miles away, but then it's 2 1/2+ hours to a bigger town. I'm guessing you could live a real wild west dream there!!

We have a small house available just outside of Laurel (less than a mile from the river and two miles from town) ...reasonable rent, but we're going to be really strict about background having been burned by previous tenant. Have left it vacant rather than get stuck with the current no-pay-up situation.

I don't want to be Grizzly bear dinner! I NEED to be near Water as well. I need NATURE, but yes, in case of emergency I do not want to be 100 miles away from civilization. My whole mind, body and soul has been yearning for Montana lately. Thanks for the tips. I will check it all out.
PLUS I am going to need a TRUCK woo-hoo!!!
Sounds great.
