It is a simple flip video but the basic information might interest some:

Most of the states are predictable but the order may surprise.

Here is a longer list as an article:

Surprising that so many move to the extreme left states unless they originally came from those type states. I'd think it would be a hard decision to leave a state like Montana, much like Wyoming which, great Lord willing, we plan on living out our last days in this great state

Given the rising cost of living, property taxes, crime, and climate .... it wouldn't be a hard decision for us to leave if a better opportunity presented itself. Until that happens we're content to stay put and make the most of it.

I imagine popular reasons for leaving would be a better job, family or health-related issues, milder climate, etc.

A big factor for me in the coming years is Montana taxes retirees quite heavily. That combined with the bad weather and higher taxes I am already looking for a place to go to.

We're in the same boat ... is this the place to retire? Is the USA even the place to retire? Can't believe we're even considering the expat option, but here we are.

Unless the overdue economic convulsion/correction is actually allowed to happen, nothing is going to get better for any of us, and especially for the working & middle class. Not just here in MT but everywhere around the country.

If that isn't enough, the walking corpse occupying the White House wants to bring a 44.6% capital gains tax in 2025 (not him per se, but the inspired idiots actually running things behind the scenes).

We would all go back to barter system if capital gains go that high. People still power if they use their heads.

Not everyone views life thru a political lens (thank-God).

It's cheaper in Seattle than Bozeman. Plus there are good paying jobs, which are not easy to find in Montana.

My son graduated from MSU in Bozeman and is in grad school in Boulder CO. He loves it and I doubt very much he will return to MT other than to visit. There's not a lot of work for a PhD in material science/mechanical engineering.

We've considered going back to WV- the northern panhandle close to Pittsburgh.

WV is really nice to drive through. My wife is from VA and the drive through WV is my most enjoyable part. Always love the views.
