If you are looking for the all-mighty monster muley, be prepared for a hike into the hills. There are quite a few respectable muley bucks on the low lands in central montana. I pulled a 29 inch 5 x 8 in an area not noted for larger bucks. The missouri breaks have some dandy bucks, that is where I am going. Check the regs though. In some hunting districts, mule deer hunting has been changed to permit only due to the decline. I'm still trying to find out where that decline is lol.

Nice...., the hunting here does differ in the fact of the miles, you will be walking. Dh picked off a 6x4 this week, but it was whitetail. Right in the middle of this snow storm. Yep we were mudding.

Wow! A 6x4,that's great,so far i've only saw the small ones but not giving up yet.I'm going back in the morning to try my luck again. My sister-in-law kileed her first buck today, a 3 pointer but you would have thought it was a monster to see how much excitement she showed.I'm would be happy to just hunt any mule deer,it would'nt have to be the big one.

I got mine today, 4x4 mulie. Sorry to say I broke his shoulder with the first shot but it slowed him down so I could waddle up to him. Just so you know the high today was 28 with a stiff wind so actually about 17. It is some tuff country here but very exciting. There will be lots of jerky soon.
