Lived in Monterey 3 1/2 years. I like it. I like it a lot. I don't "love" it though.

Our son and his family live in Monterey and we visit there quite frequently. I like Monterey a lot and they are very happy living there. The only downside for me is that it is not as warm as I like.

I worked in downtown Santa Cruz and lived in Los Gatos. I do not like Santa Cruz at all and would never consider living there. I was so happy when my job got moved to San Jose.

I've lived in both and love both! The downside is the expense of living here.

Yes, we moved form CO where housing is much more affordable. But then again I didn't awake to the sunrise over the ocean either or more recently rainbows with all the rain.

Living in Monterey is amazing. I dont regret moving out here for a minute. Sure Ill never afford a house, but who cares? We cant have it all!

I love to vacation in the area. Have played tennis at Chamisal, a very nice club tucked in the hills.
