@Habfanman - You really do take some amazing pics!
@Welts - Really? Do you have any pics you would like to share?
Yeah, I used to belong to a black dance class that had a float. (I'm whiter than white). The costumes were gold-coloured sequins and bright red feathers. I was too busy shaking my booty and having fun to take pictures. I was never one to take a lot of pics anyway. I barely have any of my own son. I'll see if my friends have any.
I just love, love, love this one. It speaks to me for some reason.
She was a tough nut to crack! I kept waving at her and yelling 'Souriez! T'es belle!" but she wouldn't look directly at me. I finally got her to crack a little smile!

Thanks man!
@Welts - That must have been a blast!. The day I took these photos it was rainy and so windy that the people with the huge gear were having trouble walking along the street. The 3 guys posing with cops were a hilarious group from D.C. They stumbled upon the parade on their way to the Jazz Festival and kept jumping into the procession and posing with everyone while their wives took photos. I called the one guy "Bleeding Gums Murphy" after the Simpsons character and his buddies wouldn't let up on him for the rest of afternoon!
