Hi all! I was born in Quebec but been in the US a long time. My present address is in Connecticut. Couple months back I spent some time in Montreal and finally received my Canadian passport to prove that I'm Canadian. Naturally, because I'd been gone so long, I thoroughly forgot all my French. Besides English, I also speak German and Polish. I plan to relearn the French language, but I'd like to get a job first. My next step is to get a job in northern Quebec - for the adventure - like maybe for a mine in some capacity. My plan is to work up north 1 to 3 years. Sure, I have no experience with mines, but I did work construction for 20 years, and that must count for something, I hope. Also, I've gone to colleges for many years, mainly studying English for writing, but have no degree. The further up north the jobsite is, the better for me. I've looked a bit, but haven't been able to find anyone to communicate with about my job search.
My question is this: Is there maybe a governmental agency that assists in citizens looking for work way up in the hinterlands? Is landing a job way up north a difficult venture?
